Meet the Team

The longest standing partner, Craig joined the practice in 1979 fresh from Glasgow University, and entered the partnership in 1982. A very experienced surgeon with a special interest in orthopaedics, he also enjoys pet animal clinics and farm and horse rounds. His hobbies include playing football, drumming and breeding and showing Hereford cattle.

Mark joined us shortly after graduating from Liverpool University in 2001, before spending a six-month sabbatical in New Zealand working as a cattle vet. He returned to the practice and joined the partnership in 2006, bringing to the table keen interests in orthopedics and fracture management. He and his family enjoy horse riding and skiing.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Dave studied at London University, before joining the practice in 2003 and subsequently becoming a director in 2019. As a keen all-rounder, he enjoys farm, equine and small animal work, particularly small animal and equine medicine. He and his family enjoy travelling, cycling, walking and good food.

Originally from Brewood, John was a foster student of the practice. He officially joined us after graduating from Bristol University in 2002, and became a director of the practice in 2019. His interests lie in the fields of pet animal and horse medicine and wound repair. In his own time, he enjoys horse riding, winter sports, sailing and travelling.

Nicky joined the team in 1999 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse three years later. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and animals. 

Lewis grew up in Kent surrounded by his family’s farm animals, and joined us shortly after graduating from Liverpool University. He has a particular interest in equine medicine, having completed an elective equine studies course, but equally enjoys treating small animals, particularly rabbits. In his own time, he is a keen rugby and hockey player and enjoys karaoke.

Ed joined us after graduating from the University of Bristol in 2015, and split his time between equine and small animal work. He lives with his wife and their dog, Minnie, and cat, Ursa, and loves walking in the Peak District. He can also occasionally be seen making a guest appearance at Wheaton Aston and Penkridge Rugby Club.

Ollie has been with us since 2018 and enjoys all aspects of mixed practice work. Having grown up in the Midlands and studied at Liverpool University, he is enjoying having a career a little closer to home. Outside of work, he is a keen musician and football fan/player. He also enjoys running and taking part in marathons with some of our team.

Katie has been with us since graduating from Bristol University in 2022, and can be found in all areas of the practice. Her clinical interests include all types of surgery. In her own time, she enjoys traditional climbing and walking her dog, Kipper, in the Lake District.

Joe graduated from the university of Bristol in 2025 after always wanting to work in mixed practice. He has a keen interest in small animal medicine but equally enjoys getting out and mucky on farm. Being from Bath he is a big rugby supporter and tries to get to as many of their games as possible. In the evening’s he likes to cook new recipes, although some are often better than others!

Jess graduated from the university of Surrey in 2020 and has worked in small animal practice on the Isle of Wight until recently relocating to Staffordshire with her 2 horses, 3 dogs, 2 chameleons and a hamster. She has particular interest in small animal medicine and equine practice. In her spare time Jess enjoys riding her horses, taking her dogs to agility competitions and photographing the local wildlife.

Monique graduated from Harper Adams University in 2008 with a degree in veterinary nursing and practice management, and gained experience at several practices before joining our team in 2013. She advanced to head nurse in 2017, and enjoys all aspects of her role. In her spare time Monique enjoys spending time with her family. 

Lucy joined us in 2004 and holds a qualification in companion animal behaviour. She runs our behaviour clinics and weight clinics, and loves helping to teach our clients about great pet care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Leah joined the practice as a kennel assistant in 2006, and has since qualified as a registered veterinary nurse and achieved her certificate in emergency and critical care. She has a passion for emergency medicine and surgery, and loves spending her spare time with her family, who love taking trips to Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland.

Nicky grew up in South Africa and Botswana, and started her career in wildlife conservation and management roles. She later worked at a community vet clinic in South Africa, before moving to the UK and completing her veterinary nursing training. Since joining us in 2017, she has completed further qualifications in wildlife conservation and animal behaviour and an advanced programme in wildlife and avian veterinary nursing. In her spare time she enjoys mountain biking, swimming and sunny holidays.

George joined us in 2021 as an experienced and knowledgeable equine veterinary nurse. She enjoys all aspects of her work, from assisting with anything from gastroscopy to wound management. In her spare time, you will be sure to see her out and about, whether with her family or her own horses.

Nicki first joined us as a student veterinary nurse in 2015, and completed her training two years later. Her interests mainly lie in theatre, particularly anaesthesia, and she is currently working towards her advanced certificate in this area. She has two dogs of her own called Tarka and Kiwi, and loves going on holidays and day trips to the beach.

Claire graduated from Harper Adams University in 2013, the same year she joined our team as a kennel assistant. She holds a degree in animal management and welfare, and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2018. She has a particular interest in medical nursing and patient care, especially small pets, as she has two rabbits and three guinea pigs of her own. In her free time,she loves watching box sets with her husband.

Zoe joined us in 2014 while completing her veterinary nursing and practice management degrees at Harper Adams University. She also holds a certificate in veterinary practice administration and a C-SQP (companion animal) qualification. She has a keen interest in all aspects of nursing, especially weight management and dental care, having completed further training in these areas. Outside of work, she can often be found wandering around Cannock Chase with her dog, Brandy.

Hollie studied animal behaviour at Liverpool John Moores University, and joined us as a kennel assistant in 2017, before qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse in 2021. Her favourite parts of her role are medical nursing, patient care and working in the kennel area. She is a huge One Direction fan and loves tennis and taking care of her dogs, Molly and Milo.

Georgina grew up on a dairy farm, and after joining our team in 2016 as a kennel assistant, she progressed to veterinary care assistant, before completing her veterinary nursing qualification in 2021. Her main interests include anaesthesia and nurse clinics, and she has a passion for snowboarding, food and reality TV.

Jess studied veterinary nursing at Rodbaston College, and worked at another small animal practice before joining our team in 2022. She has a particular passion for inpatient care and physiotherapy and rehabilitation, which she is currently completing a certificate in. She also helps to run our puppy socialisation evenings with our in-house behaviourist and veterinary care assistants. Outside of work, she enjoys going for adventures with her dog, Toby, and snuggling with her cat, Lyra.

Lili joined our nursing team 2022.

Charlotte has been with our practice since 2018, and has a degree in equine science and a diploma in horse management. She enjoys all parts of her job, and has a cat of her own called Luna, a dog called Stanley and a horse called Alfie. She loves spending her free time watching rugby, as she has a soft spot for the rugby player George Ford!

Emily qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2008 and joined our team in 2017. She has a passion for emergency and critical care, anaesthesia, nurse clinics and behaviour, and loves getting to learn new skills and expand her knowledge. When she’s not working, she enjoys family camping holidays and walking her dog, Larry.

Chloe qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2012, and works as part of our night nursing team, where she gets to pursue her passion for emergency and critical care. Outside of work she is kept busy at home with her two children and their dog, Kobi.

Victoria hails from Southend on Sea, and previously worked as a primary school teacher and as a veterinary receptionist  in Cirencester before joining us as a veterinary care assistant in 2018. She enjoys all areas of her work, especially feline care, and has a hamster, a gecko and a cat of her own. Her favourite hobbies include reading, photography and swimming.

Sophie joined the team in 2018 and holds level two animal care and level three equine management qualifications. She especially enjoys working in our theatre and with our equine patients, and loves learning new things. She lives on a farm, and much of her spare time is spent looking after her own animals and pets, as well as clay pigeon shooting and practising British sign language, which she holds a qualification in. 

Before joining us in 2022, Emma spent seven years working at the Birmingham Dogs Home Wolverhampton Centre. She has a keen interest in dog behaviour and training, and helps to run our puppy socialisation evenings. She holds an OCN level four qualification in canine welfare, training and behaviour, and is currently working towards a level five advanced diploma in canine behaviour. Much of her free time is spent with her own dogs, one of which works as a therapy dog. She also has two ferrets.

Jenny joined the team in 1986 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse four years later. She heads up our reception team and is responsible for small animal insurance queries. Most of her free time is spent with her family and dog, Scooby.

The first face you’ll see behind the reception desk at our Penkridge hospital, Suzanne has been a member of the team since 2000. In her spare time she enjoys socialising and travelling.

Donna joined the team in 2009 as a kennel assistant, before moving over to our reception team, where she enjoys greeting the people and pets that come through our doors. She loves walking her dog, Heidi, catching up with family and friends and settling down with a good book.

Before joining us in 2019, Nicky worked in banking for 19 years, after which she spent nine years working at a local grammar school. As a real animal lover and a pet owner herself, she has loved joining the veterinary profession. In her own time, she enjoys taking care of her dogs, Coco and Rocco, and her cats, Teddy Bear and Luna.

Pete joined our reception team in 2022.

Laura has been the smiling face of the Rugeley branch since 2016. Known for her warm welcome and friendly energy. Outside of work, Laura is usually planning her next travel adventure with her husband or catching the latest movie at the cinema, and spending time at home with her two cuddly siamese tabby’s, Nina and Perry.
