We are over the moon to inform you that, on Sunday 14th July, nurse Katie gave birth to the most gorgeous little boy!
He weighed 7lbs and 7ozs and both mum and baby are doing really well!

We have the gorgeous Lilo the tabby cat who is super chilled, Jarvis the cool dude cocker, Fred showing off his cow wooing skills - the girls go crazy for him, Harry the lab is the more romantic type, smooth collies are just that... smooth, Dexter the dalmatian who tries to entice with his stance, the more chilled out hound for the quieter folk, Isla the chicken is very forward and finally Ralph, who is donning his ‘can I buy you a drink pose?’.😎

Last week we had the pleasure of seeing Roly and Chester!🐶 They met for the first time on admission and became pretty good pals in an instant. We’re pretty sure they could have played all day but instead they had to be parted with their testicles!🙊
Getting this handsome pair to sit still for a photo was a mission in itself… one which we failed at.

Diamond visited us in the early hours of Sunday and Monday afternoon struggling with passing her pups. Thanks to Steve, Lewis and the team, she was given a little helping hand with passing a couple and the rest she did all on her own.☺️
She now has 6 healthy pups to keep her (and her owner!) busy!

🥳We would like to give a massive shout out to milkmen… ADW MILK - The Local Milkman in particular!🤩 Milk is supplied to them by Wells Farm Dairy just up the road.🐮
These guys have continued to deliver our milk, in the early hours, right through this pandemic. Did you know veterinary staff would be severely impaired without our hot beverages?☕️
Whilst we are aware this is not the be-all and end-all during these times, we are very grateful for their service.🥛

Helen is an RVN who joined team Straitons just before Covid-19 chaos. She’s from just up the road in Great Wyrley! We have welcomed Helen back over the last few weeks to carry on where she left off.
Helen graduated in September last year and loves all things about being a veterinary nurse, but has a keen interest in anaesthesia. She has her dog at home, Amber, her lovely crazy collie cross and loves nothing more than to take her for adventures.

On Wednesday, August turned 20 years old!🎉🥳
August resides in Oakland, Tennessee and is officially the world's oldest Golden Retriever! Fondly know as Augie, she was rescued when she was 14 years old and is still living to tell the tale.
She is still doing remarkably well for her age.

Happy birthday!!! We met a gentleman on Cannock Chase last week who was slowly walking his elderly dog. The dog was walking slowly too as he was taking time to catch up on the local news. He was quite stiff but had that unmistakable gleam in his eye which said life is still fun. The dog looked like a lab cross and had been an abused rescue in his youth. His age --- 17yrs!!!!!! Last year while on holiday in Wales we met several elderly dogs including a 22yr old Welsh collie. If only more of our furry friends could do the same. 💖💖
so glad she has had six years of being rescued and being loved. happy birthday August beautiful girlie 💙❤️💚

Today is another absolute scorcher.🔥
Please keep an eye on all of your animals... especially if they live outside.
Please don't take your dogs for a walk in this heat. It's not worth it.
We are aware our yard can be quite the suntrap! If you are coming to the practice today, the gazebos are helping with shade and there are plenty of water bowls around. If you find one empty, please don't hesitate to let us know and we'll top it up.
We also have a tap that's come in handy!💦
We love seeing your pets, but we don't want to have to treat them for heatstroke where preventable. Be sensible and be safe.🙏

My 3 under fans. They were walked before 5AM this morning
Unfortunately I have seen two poor dogs out on a walk this lunchtime... a small dog at the end of Cherrybrook Drive and a large dog (looked like a rottweiler ) along Wolgarston Way at 12.45pm. Poor dog was panting. It makes my blood boil. Both owners were older men who should know better!
