Avian Influenza - Protection Zone Created

Avian Influenza, more commonly known as bird flu, mainly affects birds. It can also affect humans and other mammals though the risk is much, much less in the current situation.    Due to the presence of avian flu in mainland Europe, the UK has been declared a protection zone. Keepers of poultry and other captive birds are now required to keep their birds indoors, or take appropriate steps to keep them separate from wild birds... Read more >
