Following the extensive media coverage recently regarding the diagnosis of equine influenza in the racing community, the Animal Health Trust has advised that horses should be vaccinated for flu every 6 months. This means that any horse that received a flu vaccine more than 6 months ago is advised to be vaccinated again.
The risk to horses on non-racing yards is still extremely low but owners are encouraged to remain vigilant and cautious.
If any of our clients would like to arrange a booster or have any further questions please contact the large animal office on the practice number.
